"About" text out of date + no way to update?

I just noticed that, on the Tidelift page for my “bidict” package, the text in the “About bidict” section still corresponds to the initial version of the package from several years ago when I first lifted the package, and is now out of date:

  1. It still advertises Python 2 compatibility.*

  2. The “Learn more here” link still points to the version of bidict that was published on 2018-09-18 (https://bidict.readthedocs.io/en/v0.17.3/home.html), which I have marked as no longer receiving updates in my Version Guidance settings. This link should instead point to an “evergreen” URL, e.g. https://bidict.readthedocs.io/.

But I can’t find any way to update this text under the https://tidelift.com/lifter/package/pypi/bidict/ section of the TideLift site. Is there any way to do this?

* Since Python 2 went end-of-life on 2020-01-01, and since there have been large community efforts such as https://python3statement.org to get Python package maintainers to stop supporting Python 2, I followed the process recommended by https://python3statement.org and removed Python 2 compatibility in the version of bidict that I published on 2020-01-09, after publishing several intervening releases with deprecation warnings that this was coming. I would like to continue to follow the community guidance and no longer maintain Python 2-compatible versions, have updated my Version Guidance accordingly, and now want to update the “About bidict” text to stop advertising Python 2 support, as well as making some more minor edits.

Hey Josh,

Thanks for reaching out about this, and for your patience! I’m asking the team about how to best update the information in question, as you’re right–it doesn’t appear to be editable from the lifter dashboard.

Do you mind if I open a support ticket on your behalf to help us track this through to resolution?

Thanks again,
The other Josh

Please do, thank you! (I posted here first since this affects other projects besides mine, but appreciate if you can resolve this for mine in advance of a self-service solution.) Please let me know if there is anything further I can provide, and thanks again for your help with this.

Thank you! I’m opening a ticket to keep track of this specific case, and also answering here so everyone can benefit from the answer

I’ve learned that, indeed, this isn’t something that can be updated through the lifter dashboard yet–it’s a manual thing that we need to do on your behalf. In order to update the description and/or learn more link on the package landing page, folks can send an email to lift@tidelift.com with the new details.

@Jab: to this end, I’ll be emailing you to get that copy from you!

Thanks so much, @joshsimmons. I responded on the ticket you opened on March 22.

I also noticed some common text on the “About” page for other lifted Python packages that should be updated, so I mentioned that as well.

Looking forward to hearing from you, and thanks again for your help with this.
